We lost our precious Catalina
It is with great sadness and grief and after a long 3 year battle we lost our precious Catalina “Stevey”. She passed away quietly in her sleep in the presence of family and those who cared for her. During her last weeks of struggle everything was done to ensure that Catalina was well cared for and was never alone and every effort was made to make her happy and to make her last moments on this earth as best that could be done. She had all her favorite foods, she got pampered, loved and encouraged. Every waking moment we tried to make her smile and bring her joy. She got to see and spend time with her new grandson and we are blessed she had this time with him. Her other two grandsons were frequent visitors and she enjoyed being with them despite her health. Everyone had an opportunity to say their goodbyes to her in her final days. Everything was done to ensure she did not suffer and she was loved and returned her love all the way to the end.
We will be posting and informing everyone of Memorial Services that will take place shortly.
Thank you to the many who assisted through this 3 year battle and God will bring blessings upon you.
Catalina "Stevey" Battle
On November 12, 2018 Catalina was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one of the worst cancers known with little options medically. At that time she was given a matter of months as she was in stage 4 where the cancer had spread. Despite the diagnosis she battled tirelessly against all odds to fight and not let cancer rule her life. Those who were at her side know of the struggles she went through and I don’t know of anyone who could have done as well as she did. She went through at least 11 major blood transfusions, radiation, at least 10 surgeries and procedures, and more than double the chemotherapy given to patients and all during this pandemic. She changed her lifestyle, diet and began taking many supplements to improve her health. She beat the odds though all this and enjoyed the remainder of her three years making the best of it with family and friends. She was incredibly strong and after therapies and surgeries she would routinely be up and about shopping and doing things the very next day. Most would be debilitated for a week but not Catalina, she was so strong and a fighter. She battled bravely to the end and was at peace. We are all suffering but we must be thankful for the 3 years of life as no doctor had expected her to survive upon diagnosis. She never suffered at the end, she was pampered, loved and appreciated. Upon her passing a beautiful rainbow went right over her home. Good-bye Catalina we love you and miss you.
Life with Cat
I met Catalina over 30 years ago and I could write a book about our time together for sure. At the time she was a manager at the Shark and Tarpon Club. She brought me a drink and before I could take the last sip, another one was there and I said to her what great service and jokingly put a 20 down on the table. It was snatched and gone before I could blink and she laughed and ran off. I knew I was in trouble. She was amazing and set sales records there that were never broken there. We spent many years together and were blessed with our daughter Brittany. We traveled the world, went on over 20 cruises, Disney/Universal so many times I lost count and stayed at the best hotels, ate the best food and had years of fun. There was never a dull moment and she lived her life to the fullest and she never ran out of energy it seemed. She had a love for animals as we all know, especially dogs and her dogs always lived a record number of years because they were so loved, she has saved and cared for so many animals in her life. No matter what situation she was in, she always seemed to land on her feet and ran several very successful businesses throughout her life. She was a survivor and always found ways to provide for herself and family throughout her life. I am still waiting for a cashapp request from her from heaven and I feel her presence as we speak. She is with her mom now and they are happy and watching over us.
